A late blitz from Puneri Paltan fell just short as Dabang Delhi K.C. held their nerve to secure a narrow win by a scoreline of 32-30 at the EKA Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad on Saturday and extend their lead at the top of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7 standings to six points. In the post-match press conference, Dabang Delhi K.C. coach Krishan Kumar Hooda and captain Joginder Singh Narwal took questions for their team while Puneri Paltan were represented by coach Anup Kumar and Nitin Tomar.

Q. Thoughts on the defence?

Krishan Kumar Hooda: The defence played well. There were certain aspects that we will have to address but it was a good performance.

Q. What was the turning point of the contest?

Krishan Kumar Hooda: I don’t think there was a turning point. We were in control right from the start. We were more or less in the lead for 40 minutes.

Q. Thoughts on Dabang Delhi K.C.'s form?

Krishan Kumar Hooda: I would like to credit it to my entire team. My captain, Joginder Singh Narwal, has led the team extremely well. My raiders Naveen Kumar and Chandran Ranjit. My other corner Ravinder Pahal.  Everyone has done so well and I’d give them all equal credit for our form.

Q. Thoughts on your own performance Joginder?

Joginder Singh Narwal: I never play for myself or worry about that aspect. I play for the team. It wouldn’t bother me if I finished with zero points if the team wins.

Q. Thoughts on the game?

Anup Kumar: Our raiders were excellent. Our defence could have played a bit quicker. The match was incredible. I'm satisfied with the team's performance. Nitin (Tomar)'s return is a huge boost for the side. If he plays as well as he did today, we'll do well in the upcoming games. We'll work on our defence and ensure we don’t repeat the mistakes that we made today.

Q. A word on Nitin Tomar's return?

Anup Kumar: Nitin is a star player. He made his return today and we all saw what he can bring to this side. The team needs him and his comeback is extremely important to us.

Q. How did it feel to return to the mat?

Nitin Tomar: It was extremely satisfying. I take pride in being able to help the team. I felt good about my performance and I hope we can keep improving and play well in the upcoming games.
