vivo Pro Kabaddi Player Auction: Amirhossein Bastami stars by an attracting highest bid on Day 2

After an exhilarating Day 1 of the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction in Mumbai that saw Pawan Sehrawat become the first player to cross the 2 crore mark in PKL history, Day 2 was just as exciting with plenty of players from Category C and D sparking bidding wars among the teams.

The most expensive player to be bought on Day 2 was defender Amirhossein Bastami, who Haryana Steelers got with a successful bid worth INR 65.10 lac.

Haryana Steelers also bought back another Iranian in Mohammad Esmaeil Maghsoudlou by using their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to secure the raider’s services for INR 10 lac.

Maghsoudlou’s countryman Soleiman Pahlevani was bought for INR 10 lac by Bengal Warriors. Veteran defender Surender Nada too joined the Season 7 champions after an INR 10 lac for them.

All-rounder Balaji D went to Bengal Warriors as well for INR 20.60 lac. One other player who the Bengal Warriors spent upwards of INR 20 lac on was Shubam Shinde. An INR 20.30 lac bid helped them buy Shinde.

Iranian all-rounder Hamid Mirzaei Nader was the first player to go under the hammer on Day 2 as Telugu Titans secured his signature for INR 10.10 lac. Telugu Titans also bought veteran defender Ravinder Pahal for INR 23 lac.

Dabang Delhi K.C. spent INR 64.10 lac on defender Ravi Kumar to make him the second most expensive buy on Day 2. Neeraj Narwal was third as far as most expensive buys on Day 2 went after Bengaluru Bulls spent INR 43 lac on him.

Rinku Narwal was the fourth most expensive purchase on Day 2 of the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction thanks to an INR 40 lac bid by Gujarat Giants.

Indian all-rounder Arkam Shaikh joined Gujarat Giants for INR 32.10 lac in what was the fifth most expensive buy of Day 2, whereas Kiran Laxman Nagar was the sixth most expensive player after an INR 31 lac bid by U Mumba.

Maharashtra all-rounder Shankar Bhimraj Gadai was the next most expensive buy in the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction after a relentless Gujarat Giants got him for INR 30.30 lac following a heated bidding war.

It’s worth also mentioning that Gujarat Giants dished out INR 21.50 lac to secure the services of defender Baldev Singh and INR 25 lac to buy Pardeep Kumar.

Meanwhile, a trio of Koreans who found bidders at the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction were Woosan Ko, Dong Geon Lee and Youngchang Ko.

While Dong Geon Lee and Youngchang Ko joined Gujarat Giants for INR 20 lac and INR 10 lac respectively, Woosan Ko will be a part of Jaipur Pink Panthers after the Season 1 champions roped him in for INR 10 lac. Jaipur Pink Panthers also bought former star raider Rahul Chaudhari for INR 10 lac.

Tamil Thalaivas who were a bit quiet on Day 2 of the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction successfully bid INR 10 lac each for Sri Lanka’s Thanushan Laxmamohan and Bangladesh’s Md. Arif Rabbani.

Another Bangladesh talent, Md. Liton Ali went to Dabang Delhi K.C. at his base price of INR 10 lac. Dabang Delhi K.C. also got Reza Katoulinezhad at the Iranian all-rounder’s base price of INR 10 lac.

A couple of overseas raiders like Aslam Saja Mohamed Thambi of Sri Lanka and Nepal’s Nageshor Tharu also found buyers.

Aslam Saja Mohamed Thambi went to Bengal Warriors for INR 10 lac, while Nageshor Tharu will be a part off Bengaluru Bulls after a successful bid of INR 10 lac. Bengaluru Bulls also got Nepal’s Lal Mohan Yadav after a bid worth INR 10 lac.

Kenyan duo Daniel Omondi Odhiambo and James Namaba Kamweti will be a part of vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 with the former going to Patna Pirates for INR 10 lacs, while the latter joined U.P. Yoddhas for INR 10 lac.

Right corner defender Abozar Mohajer Mighani also went to U.P. Yoddhas after an INR 20 lac bid for the Iranian.

Former vivo Pro Kabaddi stars Rohit Kumar and Rishank Devadiga went unsold in what came as a surprise to many.

With Day 2 of the vivo Pro Kabaddi player auction now done, all the teams have assembled their squads with a great mix of youngsters and seasoned players. Rest assured, all 12 franchises will now be raring to hit the mat as Season 9 shapes up to be one of the most exciting PKL campaigns yet.
