A combined 21 raid points from Abhishek Singh and V Ajith Kumar helped U Mumba beat the Telugu Titans 48-38. U Mumba’s Rinku scored a career-high seven tackle points, while skipper Fazel Atrachali chipped in with four tackle points.

After trailing 0-2, U Mumba scored six unanswered points, with Mohsen Maghsoudlou and the defence contributing a couple of points each and raiders V Ajith Kumar and Abhishek Singh adding one. Ajith’s two-point raid followed by Abhishek’s second touch point of the night left the Titans with just a solitary player on the mat. U Mumba’s defence made short work of the raider to inflict the game’s first All Out and take a 12-5 lead.

Fazel Atrachali and Ashish Kumar added another couple of points to their team’s total before Ajith’s second two-point raid of the night, which extended U Mumba’s lead to 11. Ajith added another touch point to his tally, leaving the Titans with just a solitary man on the mat, and the U Mumba defence made no mistake in pinning down the raider to inflict another All Out and take a 14-point lead.

The final four minutes of the first half were competitive, with U Mumba outscoring the Titans by only one point to go into the halftime break leading 28-13.

U Mumba started the second half with two unanswered points, leaving the Titans on the brink of another All Out. But Telugu’s defence stepped up, and Super Tackled Abhishek and Ajith in quick succession to cut their deficit to 13.

However, the Titans’ resistance didn’t last long as Ajith and Abhishek combined to reduce Telugu to a solitary man on the mat. For the third time in the game, U Mumba’s defence took care of the last man on the mat to inflict an All Out on the Titans and push their lead to 17.

Telugu tried to mount a comeback, but U Mumba’s defence ensured their side maintained its healthy lead. Ankit Beniwal and the Titans’ defence combined to help Telugu score three unanswered points and leave U Mumba with just a couple of players on the mat. Beniwal then tagged both defenders in the same raid before diving across the midline to inflict an All Out on U Mumba and cut the Titans’ deficit to eight.

Rinku, Abhishek, and Atrachali added three unanswered points to their team’s total to push U Mumba’s lead back up to 11. The Titans tried to bring the deficit to seven to rescue a point from the game, but Abhishek and U Mumba’s defence denied them the chance, winning the game by 10 points.
