U Mumba were deprived of a chance to prove themselves at home on Tuesday due to the postponement of their encounter against Gujarat Fortunegiants on account of heavy rains in Mumbai that have brought the city to a standstill. In fact both matches slated for Tuesday were postponed. However, U Mumba will hope the same fate doesn’t cross their path when they line up against the in-form Haryana Steelers on Wednesday in what will be the only encounter of the day. Here is a look at what this contest has in store for fans.

MATCH 53 (Zone A) U Mumba vs Haryana Steelers

Head-to-head: U Mumba 1–0 Haryana Steelers

U Mumba is the only team to have beaten Haryana Steelers in Season 5 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi so far. However, the Steelers have come back strongly since then and remained unbeaten in the following 5 encounters with three wins and two ties. On Wednesday, Anup Kumar’s U Mumba will have to come up with something special if they are to beat Haryana and break their three-match losing streak at home, four overall.

Captain Cool Anup has had to support the defence so far in U Mumba’s campaign which means he is unable to raid freely. The responsibility of scoring points in raids has fallen on Kashiling Adake but in the absence of a second raider to take the pressure off, Adake’s form has been patchy. The defence relies heavily on Surinder Singh and if he can overcome young Vikas Kandola from Haryana, then the match might come down to the wire.

For Haryana, their defence has been their biggest asset. The Surender Nada-Mohit Chhillar duo is currently among the best in the league, and on their current form they are too hot to handle. Kandola leads the charge for them in offence and has been ably supported by Deepak Kumar Dahiya and Surjeet Singh. The challenge for them will be to have Nada on the mat for as long as possible as in the previous games it has been seen that opposition teams can capitalise on his absence and make a comeback into the game.
