Telugu Titans aim for clean sweep over Patna Pirates

The final game in Vizag sees Telugu Titans play host to Patna Pirates at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Thursday. The two sides sit third and second respectively in Zone B and will be looking for a win in their quest of cementing their place in the Playoffs.

Telugu Titans have held the upper hand over Patna Pirates this season, as they have ended on the winning side in both their contests so far this season. While they won the first game by four points, Telugu Titans won the previous encounter between the sides by a massive 21 points. Captain Vishal Bhardwaj starred as he returned with nine tackle points on the night, while Rahul Chaudhari ended up with a Super 10, ending the game with 17 raid points.

Abozar Mohajermighani vs Pardeep Narwal

Abozar Mohajermighani has regained his form and his back to his best in Telugu Titans’ home leg. Mohajermighani has been Telugu Titans’ best defender this season with 51 tackle points from 17 games at an average of 3.00 tackle points per match. In his last outing against Patna Pirates, Mohajermighani returned with three tackle points as his team came out victors.

Pardeep Narwal has once again spearheaded Patna Pirates’ campaign. With 185 raid points in 16 games, Narwal sits third in the league. He averages more than a Super 10 a game and tops the league as he scores at an average of 11.56 raid points per game. Narwal also has the most Super 10s this season with 12. His best performance of the season came in Patna Pirates’ previous match against Puneri Paltan as he returned with 27 raid points, from 20 successful raids.

The Right-Corner however has had the better of the Left Raider through their VIVO Pro Kabaddi careers and leads the duo’s head-to-head 10-5. Mohajermighani’s form will once again be key and if he can keep a rampaging Narwal quiet, it will go a long way in helping Telugu Titans complete the clean sweep over Telugu Titans this season.

Telugu Titans’ skipper, Vishal Bhardwaj has been solid in the Left Corner position for the team this season. Bhardwaj hasn’t let injury deter him and has continued the form that saw him being appointed skipper even after coming back from injury. Bhardwaj managed a career-high nine tackle points in his side’s last encounter against Patna Pirates and will be raring to go once again.

Jaideep – Patna Pirates

Jaideep has had a stellar second season as a Left Corner for Patna Pirates. With 51 tackle points in 17 games, Jaideep has by far been Patna Pirates’ best defender, having scored 20 more tackle points than their next best defender. Up against Telugu Titans’ raiding trio of Rahul Chaudhari, Nilesh Salunke and Mohsen Maghsoudloujafari, Jaideep’s performance will play a huge role in determining the outcome of the game.
