The curtain comes down at Sonepat on Thursday as VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 bids farewell to the north-Indian city after witnessing almost a dozen of exciting, entertaining matches this past week. With just one game to be played on the last day, all eyes will be on home team Haryana Steelers as they take on Jaipur Pink Panthers for the first time ever. Here’s the lowdown on the match. 

Match 77 (Zone A): Haryana Steelers vs Jaipur Pink Panthers

After succumbing to a heavy defeat against Puneri Paltan yesterday, Haryana Steelers will look to end their home leg with a flourish and gift the home fans a fitting farewell against a struggling Jaipur side. Currently sitting second in Zone A with 46 points and tied with leaders Gujarat Fortunegiants, even one point from this match tonight would see Haryana ending their home leg as Zone A toppers. However, winning this match appears to be a much bigger priority for Haryana than just overtaking the Fortunegiants. Deepak Kumar Dahiya and Wazir Singh have been a solid presence in attack, though the world-class corner combination of captain Surender Nada and Mohit Chhillar needs to be more decisive to get over the Jaipur hurdle. 

Jaipur Pink Panthers, meanwhile, had to deal with a flurry of injuries to their main players from the start of the season but have still managed to win 5 of their 9 matches. Currently placed at the bottom of Zone A with 28 points and tied with Dabang Delhi K.C., the Jaipur outfit needs to overcome the 26-point thrashing they received at the hands of Patna Pirates in their last match. With Manjeet Chhillar, Selvamani K. and Jasvir Singh missing from action due to injuries, the young Jaipur brigade has a huge mountain to climb against Haryana.
