Name: Pardeep Narwal

Team: Patna Pirates

Position: Raider

Every kabaddi fan was expecting a cracker of an eliminator when VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5’s most prolific raider Pardeep Narwal met the league’s best defender Surender Nada. However, it didn’t turn out that way as Narwal trumped his counterpart with ease and broke a series of records before leading Patna into Eliminator 3 where they will play Puneri Paltan for a place in Qualifier 2.

Patna Pirates picked up a record 69 points as compared to Haryana Steelers’ 30, with Narwal himself scoring a record-shattering 34 raid points. He left Rohit Kumar’s 30 raid-point record far behind to prove yet again that he has no equals in the sport of kabaddi. His 34 points also saw him cross the 300 raid-point milestone in a single season, another fantastic record which would be hard to replicate in the seasons to come.

Narwal now has a tally of 308 points and 16 Super 10s under his belt and ended Monday’s match with a 106 percent strike rate. In a display studded with faultless raids, his touch of real genius came in the second half when he broke another record to score a mammoth six points in a single raid to take the steam off Haryana’s feeble fightback.

With a stupendous performance from the Dubki King and a commanding defensive display, Patna Pirates have again emerged as the front-runners to win the trophy and complete a hat-trick of titles.
