Deepak Narwal was the star of the day again for Bengal Warriors as they drew 36-36 with Patna Pirates at the Dome@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. With the game looking like it was going Patna’s way, very few expected Bengal to forge an unlikely second-half comeback and stun the defending champions.

Deepak, who relishes such pressure situations, however answered his team’s call for a hero and delivered on the mat for a second Super 10 performance in a row. Playing against his former employers, Deepak picked up 11 points on the night after also top-scoring for Bengal with 10 points in their previous match against U. P. Yoddha.

This time around though he would leave it late as he altered the course of the encounter in the closing stages. He scored a total of eight touch points and three bonus points to help his team to a breathtaking tie in front of astonished spectators in Mumbai.
