After a day’s break, VIVO Pro Kabaddi action returns to the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai with two intra-zonal encounters. The first match of the day will see Zone A leaders Gujarat Fortunegiants taking on the bottom-placed Dabang Delhi K.C., while the second will pitch the two teams from the south - hosts Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans - against each other. Here’s how the teams measure against each other.

Match 106 (Zone A): Dabang Delhi K.C. vs Gujarat Fortunegiants

Head-to-head: Dabang Delhi K.C. 0-2 Gujarat Fortunegiants

Dabang Delhi K.C. enter the match after an abysmal home leg where they failed to register a single win from their six encounters. Sitting at the bottom of Zone A with only 31 points, Delhi’s dream of reaching the Super Playoffs is over and the team under Meraj Sheykh will only play for pride from here on. A win against Gujarat will lessen their disappointment a little but for that they will have to play out of their skin.

Gujarat Fortunegiants are the clear favourites to win this match. The Zone A leaders have shown exemplary form throughout the season as both their departments have blossomed admirably. With 62 points from 17 matches in their kitty, their Super Playoff chances look pretty good as of now. Facing a tentative Delhi side today, Gujarat just need to stick to their game which has reaped huge dividends so far.

Khel Kabaddi Khiladi:

Satpal

Satpal’s recent peak in performance makes him the most consistent defender in the mix. He has ably taken over the reins from Nilesh Shinde to ensure the defence bears some composure. He has 26 points to his name from eight matches this season.

Sachin

Sachin has been nothing short of a revelation this season. With 111 points and 5 Super 10s, Sachin’s knack of picking up quick points at regular intervals has been a big plus point for Gujarat.

Match 107 (Zone B): Tamil Thalaivas vs Telugu Titans

Head-to-head: Tamil Thalaivas 0-2 Telugu Titans

Tamil Thalaivas started their home leg on the back of two fantastic wins but thereafter have succumbed to three straight losses. Sitting fifth in Zone B, the Thalaivas have a minuscule chance of making it to the Super Playoffs. The raiding department has been the main contributor this season but the inconsistency of the defence has cost them dear at crunch situations. With the pressure of performing at home increasing every passing day, the Thalaivas will have to ensure they don’t lose the plot against the fellow southerners.

Telugu Titans, meanwhile, have got back their vigour after registering decisive victories in their last two encounters and thus have a slight edge today. Their chance of making it to the Super Playoffs is almost negligible and hence the entire unit is expected to go all out once again under new captain Rohit Rana. The star raiders have achieved their superior form recently which has tilted matches in their favour, while the young defensive unit has been working as per the strategy laid out. However, the defence will have to be extra careful of Ajay Thakur.

Khel Kabaddi Khiladi:

Ajay Thakur

Thakur is in resplendent form and the main force for the hosts. With 128 points and six Super 10s this season so far, his ability to turn a match on its head is a threat for any team.

Rahul Chaudhari

A major chunk of the Titans’ recent success goes to Chaudhari’s return of form. He has scored 16 and 17 points in back-to-back matches to see the Titans over the line. To date, he has 161 points, studded with six Super 10s, to his name.
