Match 21 (Zone A): Haryana Steelers vs. Dabang Delhi K.C.

Head-to-head: Haryana Steelers 3-0 Dabang Delhi

Haryana Steelers fell to a third straight defeat, as U Mumba scored a 42-32 win over the home side on Wednesday. Despite Monu Goyat’s big performance that saw him score 15 points, the team couldn’t get the win. With Haryana Steelers playing their final game in Sonepat before the action moves to Pune, coach Rambir Singh Khokhar and his men will be determined to finish their home leg with a win and leave the fans with a memorable night. Haryana Steelers will be feeling confident going into this match as they are unbeaten so far in VIVO Pro Kabaddi against Dabang Delhi K.C.

Dabang Delhi K.C. assembled a strong and experienced roster for Season 6 and it has paid off for them so far. They are undefeated through two games and are looking good in offence as well as defence. Raiders Chandran Ranjit and Naveen Kumar are contributing well in offence, with Ranjit scoring 15 and Kumar scoring 12 in their opening two games. Coach Krishan Kumar Hooda’s use of his bench has been noteworthy, especially the usage of raider Pawan Kumar Kadian who has been brilliant for the team late in games. With an experienced defence of Joginder Singh Narwal, Vishal Mane and Ravinder Pahal, Dabang Delhi K.C. have ensured that the team surrenders no easy points, making life tough for opposition raiders. If they manage to triumph over Haryana Steelers, Dabang Delhi K.C. will remain one of only two undefeated teams, alongside U Mumba in Zone A, making a strong statement about their intentions to make it to their first Super Playoff in Season 6.

The big battle –

Monu Goyat vs. Chandran Ranjit

Monu Goyat finally delivered big for Haryana Steelers against U Mumba, scoring a joint match-high 15 points for his team. Although the raider couldn’t prevent Haryana Steelers’ loss, his performance in the past two games should have the fans excited. Having started on the bench in Dabang Delhi K.C.’s opening match, Chandran Ranjit made a big impact coming off the bench against Gujarat Fortunegiants and, after another quality performance against Puneri Paltan, he has established himself as Dabang Delhi K.C.’s first choice raider. Ranjit will hope to continue his good start to the campaign and get his maiden Super 10 in the game against Haryana Steelers.

Key Khiladi

Naveen – Haryana Steelers

Naveen earned high praise for his performance against Jaipur Pink Panther where he scored 17 points for his team. Haryana Steelers will be banking on Naveen continuing his rich vein of form throughout the remainder of the campaign and forming a tandem with Monu Goyat.

Ravinder Pahal – Dabang Delhi

Ravinder Pahal has had a good start to the campaign, leading his team with six tackle points in two matches. With Haryana Steelers boasting of a strong raiding trio in Monu Goyat, in-form Naveen and Vikash Khandola, Dabang Delhi K.C.’s defence will have to stay on their toes at all times and Pahal’s contribution will be key in neutralising Haryana Steelers’ threat.
