Puneri Paltan got their VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 campaign back on track with a decisive 34-17 victory over Bengal Warriors at The Arena in Ahmedabad, courtesy of brilliant performances from Sandeep Narwal and More G B.

Deepak Hooda won the toss and started the proceedings. Maninder Singh went in for the first raid of the day and managed to get a bonus for the Warriors. The first do-or-die raid in the third minute saw Rohit Kumar Choudary coming in to raid and managing to get a Warrior out. However as the clock ticked by, the match started tilting towards the Paltan, as More G B picked up successive touch points, and the Paltan defence showed maturity in its turn.

Bengal were trying to prevent an All-Out but minor defensive mistakes kept happening on their part and soon they were handed their first All-Out of the match as Narwal brilliantly took out the last two players on the mat. Paltan’s dominance in the second part of the first half continued as they almost initiated another All-Out but Ran Singh came in the way and the half ended 17-10 in favour of the Paltan.

Pune do-or-die specialist Rajesh Mondal was introduced in the second half and shortly after, he handed Bengal their second All-Out of the match in the 25th minute by taking out the last two players. The scoreline now read 24-11 in favour of Pune, with the Warriors not being able to get a foothold in the game.

Jang Kun Lee spent more than 15 minutes off the court, which contributed heavily to the Warriors collapse. Ran completed his High 5 in the last few minutes of the match but it was not enough.

Narwal was the lead performer for the Paltan with 7 points, followed closely by More GB (6 points). Pune made absolutely no mistakes tonight and were worthy winners.
