Haryana Steelers produced a team effort to beat Gujarat Fortunegiants on Wednesday.

Haryana Steelers put on a solid all-round performance to get the better of Gujarat Fortunegiants by a 41-24 scoreline at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi on Wednesday. Vikash Kandola and Prashanth Kumar Rai both scored eight raid points each, while Ravi Kumar picked up a High 5.

Haryana Steelers began the game in confident fashion, but Abolfazl Maghsodlou kept scoring raid points for Gujarat Fortunegiants in the opening exchanges. Vikash Kandola and Rai soon looked to take control of the game for Haryana Steelers with some swift and efficient raiding. Gujarat Fortunegiants, though, kept picking up points of their own while raiding to stay close to Haryana Steelers for most of the half.

However, a Super Raid by Kandola with just under seven minutes left in the half enforced an All-Out on Gujarat Fortunegiants and gave Haryana Steelers a 15-7 lead. Gujarat Fortunegiants got their first tackle point of the game after the All-Out, but Haryana Steelers continued to dominate on both ends of the mat and extended their lead to 20-11 by halftime.

Vikash Kandola gave Haryana Steelers early momentum with a Super Raid.

Haryana Steelers picked up the first two points of the second period and it looked like they were about to inflict another All-Out. But a Super Tackle by More GB kept that from happening. That respite, though, lasted only for a few minutes as Haryana Steelers moved into a 27-14 advantage shortly after on the back of a second All-Out.

With 15 minutes left in the contest, Gujarat Fortunegiants fought back the Haryana Steelers charge with another Super Tackle. But Haryana Steelers went on to inflict a third All-Out on Gujarat Fortunegiants with more than eight minutes left in the match.

Gujarat Fortunegiants reduced the margin of defeat in the closing stages of the encounter as Haryana Steelers looked to give some of their bench players a bit of game-time. However, Haryana Steelers still got their third win on the trot convincingly to underline their supreme form.
