Tamil Thalaivas and Patna Pirates will target their first win in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 when they square off in the first game on Monday at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. The second match of the evening is slated to take place between Dabang Delhi K.C. and Haryana Steelers.

Here are our previews for Day 10.

Match 24: Tamil Thalaivas vs Patna Pirates

Tamil Thalaivas will be eager to pick up their first win of the season after enduring two losses and a tie in their first three matches of the campaign. Narender has been the team’s top raider so far having scored 28 raid points, including two Super 10s. However, a lack of support in attack has held back the Thalaivas with Himanhsu being their next best raider with seven raid points. Needless to say, they will need to do more in attack, while Sagar and Sahil Gulia will be expected to lead their defence. Sagar has nine tackle points this season, while Gulia has eight. M. Abishek has also scored six tackle points and will have a role to play against the Pirates.

Like Tamil Thalaivas, Patna Pirates are yet to win this season having lost thrice and tied their other match. The three-time champions have struggled to perform as a cohesive unit with both their raiders and defenders capable of doing much better. Their lead raider Sachin has contributed well with 34 raid points and he’s been backed by Rohit Gulia, who has scored 23 raid points. However, they will need more support in attack from the likes of Vishwas S and Abdul Insamam for a change in fortunes in terms of results. Defensively, the Pirates haven’t managed to stamp their authority and will need to do better. Sunil with 12 tackle points so far has played his part but he needs help from players like Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and Neeraj Kumar, both of whom haven’t been at their best this season.

Tamil Thalaivas vs Patna Pirates head-to-head

Tamil Thalaivas and Patna Pirates have faced each other 10 times. Out of which, Tamil Thalaivas have won two matches while Patna Pirates have won six times. Two matches ended in ties.

Match 25: Dabang Delhi K.C. vs Haryana Steelers

Dabang Delhi K.C. have begun Season 9 with aplomb, winning each of their four matches so far. A well-oiled unit, the defending champions have blown away opponents frequently so far and can thank their talisman Naveen Kumar for playing a big role in making that happen. The Naveen Express has notched up 53 raid points already and has registered Super 10s in each of his four matches so far. A game-changer and match-winner in the truest sense, Naveen has also been well supported by Manjeet, who has scored 27 raid points and has come up trumps whenever called upon. He’s been a perfect foil for Naveen and makes for a deadly attacking duo for the reigning champions. On the defensive side of things, Krishan has been the team’s go-to player with 16 tackle points to show for his efforts. He along with Vishal and Ravi Kumar will shoulder most of the defensive responsibilities against Haryana Steelers.

Haryana Steelers, on the other hand, suffered their first loss of the season in their last game and will be keen to bounce back. For that to happen, they will need their main raider Manjeet to be on top of his game as he looks to add to his 26 raid points this season. He will also require support in attack from Meetu who has proven that he can make his presence felt on the mat with 19 raid points already. Manjeet and Meetu will both need to be at their best if Haryana Steelers are hoping to get the better of Dabang Delhi K.C.. As far as the Steelers’ defence is concerned, they have to perform much better collectively. Mohit is their leading raider with eight tackle points while Jaideep Dahiya has managed seven tackle points for them. The Steelers though will require the rest of their teammates to also stand up and be counted in defence to overcome the defending champions on Monday.
