Bengaluru Bulls beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 35-32 in their inter zone wildcard clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday. Skipper Rohit Kumar top-scored with 12 points, while Ajay Kumar and Ravinder Pahal bagged a Super 10 and a High 5 for the Bulls respectively to keep the southerners’ playoff hopes alive.

Bengaluru coach Randhir Singh assessed his side’s display on the night at the post-match press conference. “We had a chance to go ahead and they didn’t have any chance to go ahead. They played according to their way,” he said.

On the Bengaluru captain’s fierce competition on the night with Delhi’s Rohit Baliyan, Singh added: “Crowd loves Rohit wherever he goes because he is a safe raider. If he had played a little better this season then he could have had 30 or 35 more raid points. He has been tackled in pressure situations.”

Meanwhile, when asked for his assessment of the contest, Delhi coach Dr. Ramesh Bhendigiri opined: “We lost but the team played well. Today’s match was also crucial for us like the last encounter. We were playing against Rohit and Ajay who are very good players. From our team Rohit Baliyan played well and his performance was good but in the last five minutes Meraj Sheykh got an injury in his collar bone because of which our scoring slowed down.”
