On Wednesday, the 2022 Asian Games kabaddi event featured four matches in the men's category and three women's fixtures in Hangzhou, China.

The Indian men's and women's kabaddi teams defeated Thailand in both categories in their respective matches.

Men’s Results

The Indian team continued its good form at the Asian Games and had a terrific start to the game. Thailand was under pressure against the Indian raiders and struggled to get going. The Pawan Sehrawat-led Indian team claimed its first All-out on Thailand within the first 10 minutes of the match. They went about their business in style and ended the first half with the score reading 37 - 9.

In the second half, Thailand looked to make a comeback into the game but failed to put on a show against the Indian defenders. India continued to dominate with the likes of Arjun and Pawan leading the way and helped the team seal their second straight win in the men’s event, courtesy of a 63 - 26 scoreline.

In the second game, Chinese Taipei handed Bangladesh their second loss of the campaign as the former clinched their third win in Group A by a 31 - 18 scoreline.

In the Group B clash, Iran made it three wins in a row after beating the Republic of Korea. They maintained their top spot in the group with a 64 - 23 margin win.

Malaysia looked good in phases but couldn’t resist the Pakistan challenge and lost by a 35 - 58 margin.

Women’s Results

Iran sealed a comfortable 54 - 16 victory against Bangladesh to consolidate the top spot in Group B.

Group A table-toppers, India, had an excellent start in their game against Thailand. They inflicted the first All-out against Thailand in the 10th minute of the match. A dominant performance by Nidhi Sharma and Pushpa Rana in the offence helped them earn the second All-out as they led the contest with a score of 32 - 9.

The second half was no different as the Indian team continued to extend their lead by excelling in both departments. They eventually beat Thailand to consolidate their top spot with a 54 - 22 scoreline.

In the last fixture of the evening, Chinese Taipei strengthened their position for a berth in the semi-final with a 24 - 35 win over the Republic of Korea.
