An incredible performance by raider Abhishek Singh and High 5s from skipper 'Sultan' Fazel Atrachali and Cover defender Harendra Kumar gave U Mumba a 47-21 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. This defeat was Jaipur Pink Panthers' third on the trot and the biggest in terms of points margin this season.

Abhishek Singh was the star of the show for U Mumba against Jaipur Pink Panthers

U Mumba were off to a flying start, courtesy of their raiders, and raced to a 5-0 lead, which reduced Jaipur Pink Panthers to just two men. Nitin Rawal’s two-point raid got Jaipur Pink Panthers on the board, but it proved to be momentary respite, as just a couple of minutes later, U Mumba inflicted an All-Out to take a six-point lead.

U Mumba continued their onslaught and added six further unanswered points to their score which reduced Jaipur Pink Panthers to two men again. Nilesh Salunke’s successful bonus attempt curbed U Mumba’s scoring run, but it didn’t matter much as Abhishek and Atrachali helped inflict another All-Out to give their side a 14-point advantage.

Athul MS’ two-point raid and another tackle point from Atrachali added to U Mumba’s lead before the half, as they went into the break leading by 16 – the largest half-time lead for a team in Season 7.

'Sultan' Fazel Atrachali scored a High 5.

Harendra’s Dash on Deepak Narwal followed by Abhishek’s Frog Jump over Amit Hooda ensured Jaipur Pink Panthers had just a couple of men left on the mat inside the first two minutes of the second half. Harendra added another point to his team’s total and raider Arjun Deshwal got the touch on the sole man to then enforce another All-Out on Jaipur Pink Panthers.

U Mumba were relentless and embarked on a 4-1 run which extended their lead to 23 points. Jaipur Pink Panthers’ defence finally got on the board as Amit Hooda blocked Deshwal giving his team their first tackle point of the night. A couple of Super Tackles helped them cut the deficit to 20, but U Mumba’s defence ensured that Jaipur Pink Panthers remain with three on the mat. The pressure finally paid off as Abhishek’s touch point on Amit Hooda followed by a two-point raid from Deshwal helped U Mumba inflict a fourth All-Out on Jaipur Pink Panthers.

On nine raid points, Abhishek went in for the final raid and came away with four raid points to not only complete a Super 10 but also extend the margin of victory to 26.
