69th Senior National Women’s Kabaddi Championship, Day 3 updates: Himachal Pradesh and Haryana qualify for the semi-finals

The third day of the 69th Senior National Women's Kabaddi Championship witnessed the Round of 16 and quarter-final matches, where defending champions Himachal Pradesh and the hosts Haryana made it to the semi-final round along with Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

The semi-finals and the final is set to take place on 26th March (Sunday).

Himachal Pradesh started Day 3 with a thunderous 59-13 win over Bihar to advance into the quarter-finals. On the other hand, Harwinder Kaur led Punjab to outsmart Gujarat in a one-sided contest by 42-28.

The star-studded Maharashtra team managed to defeat Goa with a 17-point victory. The women from Jharkhand, who pulled off a miraculous win over the hosts earlier in the league-stage, beat West Bengal to enter the quarter-finals.

The hosts Haryana registered a comfortable victory over Tamil Nadu 46-17. The likes of Sonali Shingate and Payel Chowdhury led the offence for Indian Railways as they beat Karnataka 52-21 to advance into the quarter-finals.

The match between Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh went down the wire with the latter pulling off an incredible 32-30 win in the dying minutes. Rajasthan continued to assert their dominance with a 32-point victory over Chhatisgarh.

In the semi-finals, the defending champions Himachal Pradesh thrashed Punjab with a comfortable 46-15 victory. Jharkhand continued their dream run as they outsmarted Maharashtra with a 35-33 win.

Haryana stunned Indian Railways in the third quarter-final with a decent margin of 38-23 to advance into the semi-finals. In the fourth quarter-final, Rajasthan registered a 20-point victory over Uttar Pradesh 34-14.
