A thrilling back-and-forth battle between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh finished with the latter narrowly edging out the side from the capital 28-25 on Day 3 of the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championship in Jaipur.

Uttar Pradesh’s KM Amresh delivered one of the most incredible performances of the tournament so far, scoring 10 tackle points in the match.

Day 3 also saw 14 other matches from the women’s draw. Here’s a summary of those fixtures:

Assam vs Tripura

Chila Muchahary’s brilliant all-round performance (six raid points, four tackle points) and duo Vijay Kumari (nine raid points) and Salma Begum’s (seven tackle points) stellar contributions guided Assam to a mammoth 57-11 victory over Tripura. The Assam women’s team inflicted five All Outs on their opponents in what was a brilliant display on both sides of the mat.

Delhi vs Manipur

Super 10s from raiders Pranjal and Anjali helped Delhi win 68-22 against Manipur. Delhi’s defensive stalwarts Ritu and Punita scored a High 5 each in their team’s landslide victory. All seven of Delhi’s starters scored atleast five points in this lopsided contest.

Punjab vs Jammu & Kashmir

Raider Harwinder Kaur’s Super 10 coupled with a strong defensive showing from trio Amandeep Kaur, Ritu and Mandeep Kaur saw Punjab ease to a 43-10 victory over Jammu & Kashmir.

Bihar vs Tripura

Post their loss against Assam, Tripura succumbed to another defeat, being comprehensively beaten by Bihar by a scoreline of 9-43. Such was Bihar’s foothold in the contest, that raider Remy Kumari, who scored a Super 10 in just nine raid attempts, outscored Tripura on her own.

Himachal Pradesh vs Goa

Nidhi Sharma’s 12 raid points and Jyoti’s seven tackle points helped Himachal Pradesh beat Goa 56-22. Raider Priyanka Negi played the perfect supporting act, scoring seven raid points in just 11 raid attempts, while in defence, Bhavna Devi too stepped up and scored a High 5.

Kerala vs Vidarbha

Sakshi Ashok’s incredible 18-raid point performance led Vidarbha to a 44-23 victory over Kerala. The raider recorded a strike rate of 100 in what an outstanding display.

Telangana vs Karnataka

Eight raid points each from Neetha S and Deepika K helped Karnataka see off Telangana 40-22. It was an all-round team effort from Karnataka with Pallavi T and Megna Kotian contributing seven and six points, respectively to their team’s cause.

Manipur vs Madhya Pradesh

Kanchan Jyoti’s 13 raid points and Krishma Malviya’s eight tackle points helped Madhya Pradesh see off Manipur 46-23. Mona Sengar scored a High 5 for Madhya Pradesh while Jaylaxmi Swami contributed five raid points for Madhya Pradesh.

Uttaranchal vs Goa

A Super 10 from Uttaranchal’s Shivani Bisht and six tackle points from Neha did not prove enough as Goa managed to beat them 39-32. It was an all-round team effort from Goa, led by Bindu’s Super 10 and Ekta Rani’s seven tackle points that helped them see off Uttaranchal by seven points.

Vidarbha vs Chandigarh

Raider Meenu led Chandigarh from the front with 16 raid points, leading her side to a dominating 43-11 victory over Vidarbha. Defender Suman scored a High 5 while raider Pooja scored eight raid points in a dominating display from the Chandigarh side.

Rajasthan vs Orissa

Home side Rajasthan continued their stellar showing at the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championship, beating Orissa 48-15. Raider Renu was yet again at the forefront for Rajasthan, scoring 13 raid points, while defender Manpreet Kaur scored seven tackle points.

Punjab vs Chhattisgarh

A massive 15-raid point performance from Chhaya led Chhattisgarh to a narrow 31-29 victory over Punjab. Ramsheela Dugga led the Chhattisgarh defence with four tackle points while Suman Urwasha contributed three. For Punjab, raider Harwinder Kaur scored a Super 10 while Rupinder Kaur managed seven raid points.

Bihar vs Assam

The Bihar women’s team ended their pool stage with an authoritative display against Assam, winning 39-9. Meena Bazzad, Sonia and Shama Parveen scored six points each in their team’s 30-point victory.

Uttaranchal vs Himachal Pradesh

The final match of the day in the women’s saw Himachal Pradesh beat Uttaranchal 42-10. Priyanka Negi led Himachal Pradesh in scoring with 10 points (nine raid points, 1 tackle point), while Jyoti showcased her all-round ability with four raid points and four tackle points to her name. Bhavna Devi led the Himachal Pradesh defence in scoring with six tackle points.
