Telugu Titans come out stronger in the match-up against Puneri Paltan

Telugu Titans routed Puneri Paltan 45-24 to register their second straight win in Match 5 of Season 2 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. The encounter promised a lot initially when the side from across the Western Ghats held a 14-13 lead at the break as Yogesh Hudda ran riot scoring eight points in six raids. With Mahipal Singh also coming to the party with two superb catches The Titans were rocked. Rahul was trapped after some initial success and that resulted in him being off court for almost 13 minutes that hurt the Hyderabad side a lot.

The turning point in the match came due to the dismissal of Yogesh a minute before the break. On a do or die raid Yogesh came back without realizing that the raid was on. Immediately after the break the Pune side collapsed not once but twice like a pack of cards. They plummeted to 14-21 and 14-30 quite quickly. It was Deepak Hudda and Prashant Rai who inflicted the damage and Rahul who had suddenly warmed up and started breathing fire. He scored three and two points to get the 'all-out' both times. The performance was to fetch Rahul the TVS Best Raider Award.

Pune created a flutter but for a brief period as Wazir suddenly came into his own. There was a spell when he used his straight and round-house kicks to dismiss Meraj with a blow on his thigh and followed it with a kick to send Rahul packing. Wazir had earlier dismissed three in a raid. The Pune supporters suddenly saw a ray of hope as their side clawed back to 21 -33 However, it was a false alarm as Rahul came up with the super raid of the match . He got rid of two defenders which inflicted the third ‘LONA’- all-out against Pune and at 43-24 that was the final nail in the coffin for last year’s eight place team.
