Vizag played host to Telugu Titans’ home leg in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 6 and the spectators at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium were treated to a week of outstanding of kabaddi action. A few records were also set during the Vizag leg and here, we take a look at them as well as some other top moments from the week’s action.

1. Rahul Chaudhari breaks the 850-point barrier

Telugu Titans’ Rahul Chaudhari has been a trendsetter for points scored in VIVO Pro Kabaddi for a number of seasons and the mercurial raider continues to do so even in Season 6, as he became the first player ever to reach 850 points in the league in the recently concluded leg. What must have made the moment sweeter for Chaudhari was the fact that he managed to reach the mark in a crucial victory against Patna Pirates, in front of Telugu Titans’ home fans in Vizag.

2. Pardeep Narwal’s mammoth 27 points against Puneri Paltan

Patna Pirates captain Pardeep Narwal added to his kitty of unbelievable performances in Match 101 as he scored a current-season-high 27 raid points in a memorable night against Puneri Paltan, helping his team to a 17-point victory. Following this performance, Narwal also temporarily climbed to the top of the Best Raiders’ List for the season but was later overtaken by Siddharth Desai.

3. Double-ton for debutant Siddharth Desai:

Siddharth Desai’s historic debut campaign saw another chapter being written in Vizag as the U Mumba raider became the first man to hit the 200-point mark in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 6. With 197 raid points and three tackle points to his name, Desai is the league’s joint-top-scorer and, with three more raid points in his upcoming two matches, Desai could also set the mark for the least number of games taken to reach 200 raid points.

4. Nitesh Kumar’s High 5 on Rahul Chaudhari:

U.P. Yoddha’s Nitesh Kumar has enjoyed a magnificent campaign at the Right Corner position and is currently one of the front-runners to take home the Best Defender Award for Season 6. Against Telugu Titans, with his team in need of a victory, Kumar managed to neutralise the opponent’s lead raider Rahul Chaudhari for most of the night, scoring five tackle points off the raider in just six attempts and helping his side score an important victory over their Zone B rivals. All five of Kumar’s tackles on Chaudhari were Ankle Holds, showcasing his proficiency with the move.

5. Six Super Tackles propel Telugu Titans over Haryana Steelers:

Telugu Titans have built a reputation for being a fearsome defensive outfit in Season 6 and visitors Haryana Steelers witnessed that first hand, as the home team scored a VIVO Pro Kabaddi record-equaling six Super Tackles to beat their opponents by a narrow margin. The six Super Tackles were split between five starters, with captain Vishal Bhardwaj scoring two while Abozar Mohajermighani, Rahul Chaudhari, Anil Kumar and Anuj Kumar scored one each.
