For a raider, it is always difficult to come on as a substitute and immediately start scoring. Delhi Dabang K.C.’s R. Sriram and Haryana Steelers’ Surjeet Singh have already proven previously that they have this rare ability, and on Thursday it was Rakshith’s turn to add his name to this list in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5.

Coming on as a substitute for Rohit Rana in the second half, the young raider managed to score in his opening raid itself. He was taken out immediately and brought back four minutes later. Once again, he scored in his first raid after coming onto the mat. He returned with 4 points from just 6 raids and provided able support to Nilesh Salunke and Rahul Chaudhari on a night that regular raider Vikas failed to come good.

The most impressive part of Rakshith’s performance against double defending champions Patna Pirates was how he managed to maintain his composure in spite of raiding in pressure situations. Sadly, his performance could not take his team over the line on Thursday. However, Rakshith’s show bodes well for the Titans who have been looking to find consistent support for Chaudhari in the raiding department.
