Name: Nitin Rawal

Team: Jaipur Pink Panthers

Position: All-Rounder

The last day of action at Sonepat finished with a 27-27 tie between Haryana Steelers and Jaipur Pink Panthers as the hosts failed to hold on to a lead in the absence of captain Surender Nada and Mohit Chhillar. Jaipur skipper Manjeet Chhillar made a comeback from injury after five matches but the star of the day was none other than young all-rounder, Nitin Rawal.

Playing his first season in VIVO Pro Kabaddi, Rawal had impressed coach Balwan Singh from his very first appearance. However, on Thursday, he ended the match with a tally of 12 points [11 raid points and 1 tackle point], picking up his first Super 10 in the process.

Although he contributed both in attack and defence, his super raid in the 36th minute was the turning point of the match. It led to Haryana’s first All-Out of the night and tied the scoreline. Furthermore, the fact that he was unsuccessful only once in his 17 raid attempts, offers a glimpse of what the youngster is capable of in the future.
