Bengal Warriors continued their fine form to beat Bengaluru Bulls for their fourth win of VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 at the Dome@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Captain Surjeet Singh led the charge for the Warriors with a massive 8 tackle points and was instrumental in keeping the Bulls’ raiders in check throughout the match.

The defence shone early for both sides which meant the match stayed even for a long time. Gurvinder Singh from the Bulls and Deepak Narwal from the Warriors however changed the trend as both started scoring raid points at will. But once Deepak was sent to the bench it looked like an uphill battle for Bengal Warriors. Surjeet made sure the Warriors avoided an All-Out by coming up with two super tackles on Bulls captain Rohit Kumar. His High 5 gave the Warriors a slim 11-9 lead at the end of the first half.

The second half started with a couple of stellar 4-point raids by Virender and Jang Kun Lee of Bengal Warriors as the team raced to a 20-11 lead and inflicted an All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls. The Bulls defence took a major blow when Ravinder Pahal, their defensive mainstay, picked up a red card in just the 4th minute of the second half. The Warriors rampaged from there on and took full advantage of a clueless-looking Bulls defensive line. Defender Kuldeep Singh led a late surge for Bengaluru Bulls with some brilliant tackles that took him to a High 5 but in the absence of support he could only narrow the margin of their loss. Bengal Warriors comfortably wrapped up the match with a 32-26 score line.

With this victory Bengal Warriors maintain their third position in the Zone B points table and will now go into their home leg brimming with confidence. Fourth-placed Bengaluru Bulls, however, will have a lot to mull before Tuesday’s match against U.P. Yoddha at the same venue.
