Prashanth Kumar Rai was the star of the show for Haryana Steelers as they cruised to a 38-31 victory over Bengaluru Bulls at the Motilal Nehru School of Sports in Sonepat on Saturday. The win saw Haryana pick up their first full points at home after a tie against double defending champions Patna Pirates on Friday.

Prashanth managed a game-high 16 points from a total of 17 raids. Ten of his 17 raids ended successfully much to the delight of the home faithful. The Bulls’ defence found it difficult to contain him as he raided successfully with unerring regularity.

He managed three bonus points to go with 13 touch points and was well supported by substitute Deepak Kumar Dahiya, who also made his presence felt. The emergence of Prashanth and Dahiya lately has given the Steelers a variety of options in attack and once Vikas Kandola returns from injury, the trio can wreak some serious havoc on the opposition teams.
