Name: Maninder Singh

Team: Bengal Warriors

Position: Raider

After an impressive performance in their opening two games which saw them register a win and a tie, Bengal Warriors needed their players to step up to the challenge once again in their third home game on Sunday, this time against Tamil Thalaivas. Though the Thalaivas came into the match propping up Zone B, they amply showed that they cannot be taken lightly as they came pretty close to stunning the hosts.

It appeared the game was going the way of the Thalaivas when they brought down a 10-point difference to just 1 point in the 16th minute of the second half. However, Maninder Singh from the Warriors ensured that his side kept the lead by producing a super raid and rattling the Tamil Thalaivas defence at the right time. He increased the gap to 4 points and from there Bengal Warriors maintained that margin to win comfortably in the end. Maninder was also the game’s top scorer with 6 points to his name.

On Tuesday, Bengal Warriors face the fearsome Haryana Steelers where Maninder will square off against the Surender Nada-Mohit Chhillar combination and will look to go from strength to strength.
