Name: Mahender Singh

Team: Bengaluru Bulls

Position: Defender

After receiving a lot of criticism for their shoddy defence over the course of the league, Bengaluru Bulls have showcased a couple of brilliant defensive displays in their last few games. Ravinder Pahal was the side’s hero in their win against Delhi and on Sunday it was Mahender Singh’s turn to display a defensive masterclass against U.P. Yoddha. He reached his High 5 early and then doubled his points from there to finish with 10 tackles points from the game.

U.P. had demolished Jaipur in their previous game with Rishank Devadiga scoring the most raid points in a single match in the history of the league. However, Bengaluru had come with a plan and managed to keep the raider down to just 5 points on the back of Singh’s mammoth effort. Singh put in 2 super tackles and 8 successful tackles to keep his side’s playoffs qualification hopes alive till the very end.

Bengaluru eventually may have failed to make the playoffs but Singh has certainly announced himself as a force to be reckoned with in the future with this performance.
