Friday was a night of low scoring encounters in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 as all four teams played on the defensive. The first game in particular saw a lot of end-to-end action with home team Tamil Thalaivas looking a charged up unit, holding the aggressive Puneri Paltan raiders down. The raid that made the difference for the Paltan was that of their Captain Deepak Hooda which gave his team the lead and allowed them to put the Thalaivas under pressure in the last quarter of the match.

Deepak managed only 6 raid points overall but was still the highest scorer of the game. He also managed to stay on the mat for a long time which gave his team the confidence they required to attack the Thalaivas.

Following a convincing 33-20 victory against the Thalaivas, Puneri Paltan now face another aggressive outfit in U.P. Yoddha on Saturday and they will hope their captain continues showing the way.
