After just two wins in 11 matches, Tamil Thalaivas needed something special from their players in order to get winning momentum back on their side. It came on Sunday in the form of a spirited performance by their defenders led by young C. Arun.

Arun has been a consistent performer for the Thalaivas in defence but on Sunday he pulled out all the stops and scored 8 tackle points against a dangerous Bengal attack consisting of Maninder Singh, Jang Kun Lee and Deepak Narwal.

He was involved in two super tackles with D. Pradap and helped his side avoid an All-Out on multiple occasions. He kept the pressure on the Warriors which facilitated Ajay Thakur’s game-turning feat in the last raid of the match.

With their home leg nearing, the Chennai team will now hope for more such magic from Arun so that they are able to keep themselves in the hunt for the play-offs.
