Name: Anand Patil

Team: Dabang Delhi K.C.

Position: Raider

The Kolkata leg came to a close with a thrilling 31-31 draw between hosts Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C. at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium on Thursday. The Warriors looked like they were on course for a win that would see them end their home leg on a high but Delhi’s defence and raider Anand Patil had other ideas.

The 21-year-old raider came off the bench and rose to the occasion in the absence of skipper Meraj Sheykh, who was stretchered off due to injury. Patil only raided eight times in the match but he managed to pick up nine crucial points during those raids.

He managed seven touch points and two bonuses and was tackled by Bengal’s defence only once. However, it was his display in the final minute of the match with his team trailing that really stood out as he managed two touch points with swift raids and helped the visitors share the points.
