Siddharth Desai: I don’t care for records

Siddharth Desai’s Super 10 and Fazel Atrachali’s High 5 inspired U Mumba to a 44-19 victory over Dabang Delhi K.C. on Tuesday. In the post-match press conference, both of U Mumba’s stalwarts for the day accompanied coach Gholamreza Mazandarani to take questions from the media.

Q. Thoughts on the performance?

Gholamreza Mazandarani: I thought it was a comfortable game. Dabang Delhi K.C. decided to test their bench strength and we played our best seven so we were fairly relaxed. But we still had to perform well and get the results, which we did.

Q. What was your main advantage in this match?

Gholamreza Mazandarani: We needed a win to stay at the top of our zone and that pushed us to give our best.

Q. Your amazing debut campaign continues. Thoughts?

Siddharth Desai: I couldn’t have dreamt of anything like this. But I need to keep performing and keep improving.

Q. How did it feel reaching the 200-point-mark in this match?

Siddharth Desai: I don’t care for records. I just aim to do well. The numbers pile up on their own.

Q. Your thoughts on the match, Fazel?

Fazel Atrachali: I was very confident of our chances, just like I was before the start of the campaign. We have a host of good junior players and the first overseas coach. So, in the opening matches of the season, we had some issues but those have been ironed out over the course of the season. We know exactly who we need in what situation.
