Rohit Kumar: Sehrawat can take the game away from the opponents on his own

A second Super 10 on the trot from Pawan Kumar Sehrawat helped Bengaluru Bulls win back-to-back Southern Derbies against Telugu Titans, this time by a scoreline of 44-28. In the post-match press conference, coach Randhir Singh, captain Rohit Kumar and raider Pawan Kumar Sehrawat took questions for Bengaluru Bulls.

Q. What was the strategy that got you this big win?

Randhir Singh: We had a strategy today that we’ll attack right from the get go. We played five defenders to limit the impact of their raiders. It was a high stakes game. They would have wanted to win all three games to boost their chances of making it to the Playoffs and we wanted to win to confirm our place as well. It is very satisfying to make the Playoffs after a three-year gap.

Q. What kind of pressure are you looking at heading into the Playoffs?

Randhir Singh: There is pressure in every game but the Playoffs are especially tough because there are no do-overs.

Q. Tell us about the form of the defence?

Rohit Kumar: I think we still need to work on that aspect of our game. But we are working on it. The coach is working hard with the squad. We do have a few days before the Playoffs so we’ll iron out the flaws in our defence.

Q. Who do you think is the key player for Bengaluru Bulls going forward?

Rohit Kumar: Pawan Kumar Sehrawat will be key. If he does well, we won’t even need a second raider. He can take the game away from the opponents on his own.
