Bengaluru Bulls

Q. How happy are you with today’s result?

Randhir Singh: It was good. We were a little upset yesterday with the loss but we kept our morale high for today’s game. What I am really happy with is that Rohit Kumar is now at his peak. He was scoring 7-8 points consistently but today he got a Super 10. There is still some way to go now but his form augurs well for us.

Q. What did you think about your team’s defence in today’s game?

Rohit Kumar: It is important for the defence to perform well because if a raider gets points and the team concedes points on the other side then it can make the match very close. Before the game today, the coach told us that we are not to repeat the same errors we made in our previous game. If one defender goes for a tackle then we should all support him, and that is what we did today.

Q. What are your thoughts on the raiding unit?

Randhir Singh: Our offence played well yesterday as well. But the defence wasn’t able to score too many points. If the defence had played in a similar manner yesterday then we would have won that game as well. Pawan Sehrawat scored 10 raid points in yesterday’s game. We ensured today that we didn’t give too many easy tackle points to Manjeet Chhillar and that worked for us.

Q. Tell us a bit about Amit Sheoran.

Randhir Singh: Before today’s game I worked with Amit Sheoran for almost 1.5 to 2 hours and I told him that this is a golden opportunity he is being handed. Since we didn’t have a fixed Left Corner it is a good opportunity for him to make that position his own. He had played well in the trials for the Nationals so I told him that we will make use of his abilities at the right time and it worked in our favour today.
