Rahul Chaudhari: I was determined to perform today

Telugu Titans secured a huge victory against home side Patna Pirates at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium, Patna on Tuesday. Representing Telugu Titans at the post-match press-conference were captain Vishal Bhardwaj, coach K Jag Mohan and Rahul Chaudhari. Taking questions for Patna Pirates was their coach Ram Mehar Singh.

Q: How do you view this victory?

K Jag Mohan: We played according to our strategies and they paid off today. We were excellent in the first half. This motivated us to perform better in the second half. I have said this before as well, when these two teams play, whoever succeeds in defence will win.

Q: Abozar Mohajermighani and you combined for 12 tackle points, not giving an inch to the opposition offence. Both of you are continually delivering brilliant performances.

Vishal Bhardwaj: Abozar was injured in our previous match and couldn’t play. Hence we committed some errors which led to us losing the game. Since that match, we have been practicing hard on our defence and we showed what we can do as a unit today.

Q: You seem to have had the upper-hand in the battle with Pardeep Narwal today. What are your thoughts?

Rahul Chaudhari: Pardeep is a fantastic player. Unfortunately, he got injured today. Our defence is excellent and we put in an all-round performance today. I had a quiet season up until today, but I was determined to perform today. I had made up my mind to get a Super 10 today after not having one for our previous few games. I knew that once I get a Super 10, I will not stop there and will go for more points. Nilesh Salunke offers brilliant support as a secondary raider. He was excellent as well today. It was a good team effort.

Q: You suffered your third successive loss today. How do you view today’s game?

Ram Mehar Singh: The last two games we lost, yesterday and today, the team was under pressure to perform. We lost a few points due to our defence today. The raiders tried their best, but it wasn’t enough.

Q: What are your thoughts on their strong defence?

Ram Mehar Singh: We got All-Out thrice. They didn’t give us an opportunity to attack their defence. In the opening few minutes, we gave away too many points and a raider can only do as much to get points. If we leak points, we can’t win games. We will try to win our last two games at home.
