Aslam Inamdar announces his arrival with astounding 17-point night and leads Puneri Paltan to victory

Puneri Paltan’s young sensation Aslam Inamdar scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Puneri Paltan to a 39-27 victory over the Bengal Warriors. The Paltan’s defence had a spectacular night, outscoring their Warriors counterparts 13-2. Maninder Singh was Bengal’s top scorer with 13 points, while Akash Pikalmunde came off the bench to score eight.

Maninder was up-and-running early with a Super Raid in the fourth minute that saw the Warriors race to a 5-2 lead and reduced the Paltan to just two players on the mat. But the undermanned defence turned the tide of the contest with a couple of Super Tackles that helped the Paltan take a two-point lead.

The Paltan extended their lead to four with a couple of quick points, reducing the Warriors to three players on the mat. Bengal’s defence held fort temporarily with a Super Tackle on Mohit Goyat, but the Paltan responded with three unanswered points to leave the Warriors with just a solitary man on the mat. Nitin Tomar got the touch point on the lone Warrior on the mat to inflict the All Out and give the Paltan a seven-point lead.

Aslam Inamdar and the Paltan defence combined to add five unanswered points to their team’s total, pushing their lead to 12. Akash Pikalmunde and Maninder combined to help the Warriors finish the half with three straight points, as the two teams went into the halftime break with the Paltan leading 20-11.

The Paltan got off to the perfect start in the second half, giving up two bonus points to Maninder, but picking up three touch points to inflict an All Out on the Warriors to take a 25-13 lead.

The two teams then matched each other point-for-point over the next ten minutes as the Paltan maintained their 12-point advantage. Mohammad Nabibakhsh and Maninder combined to pick up a couple of touch points and leave the Paltan with just three men on the mat, but their defence responded with a Super Tackle to retain their team’s healthy lead.

Inamdar then added three points to his team’s total in just two raids to push his team’s lead up to 16. Pikalmunde scored five unanswered points in the game’s final two minutes, but that didn’t affect the result, as the Paltan registered their third win of the season.
