The New Year is inching closer, but vivo Pro Kabaddi is bringing the party three days in advance with a couple of blockbuster fixtures.

A repeat of the Season 7 final will kick off the double-header on Wednesday, as Naveen Kumar and Dabang Delhi K.C. will take on Maninder Singh and the Bengal Warriors. In the second game, Pardeep Narwal and U.P. Yoddha will take on the daunting Gujarat Giants defence as both teams aim for their second win of the campaign.

Check out our preview for both games:

Match 19: Dabang Delhi K.C. vs Bengal Warriors

Dabang Delhi K.C. remain the only unbeaten team in vivo Pro Kabaddi season 8, winning two of their three fixtures. Naveen Kumar has led the team by example with 44 points as Delhi sit atop the points table, two points clear of Patna Pirates. Dabang Delhi will want to continue their unbeaten start and avenge their loss in last year’s final.

The Bengal Warriors succumbed to their first defeat of the season against the Bengaluru Bulls in their last outing. Maninder Singh was spectacular, finishing the night with 17 points. The skipper will want his team to respond to the defeat strongly and get back to winning ways against the league leaders.

Dabang Delhi K.C. vs Bengal Warriors head-to-head

Dabang Delhi K.C. and Bengal Warriors have faced off 15 times in vivo PKL. The Warriors hold a slender 7-6 lead in their head-to-head matches, with two games finishing in a tie.

Match 20: U.P. Yoddha vs Gujarat Giants

U.P. Yoddha suffered their second loss in three games in their previous outing against the Gujarat Giants. Pardeep Narwal finished the night with just three points, his lowest in quite some time. The team will take solace in Surender Gill’s brilliant Super 10 and will want the young raider to continue his form and carry the raiding load until Pardeep hits top gear.

The Giants took just three games to complete the result set after their last game finished in a tie. They have now lost, won and tied one game each this season. They will be eager to get another in the win column on Wednesday. Their defence has been as solid, and the raiding unit, led by youngster Rakesh and Rakesh Narwal, has held its own. A slight improvement in performance from the raiding unit could be a game-changer for the Giants.

U.P. Yoddha vs Gujarat Giants head-to-head

The Giants have won three of their five matches against the U.P. Yoddha, who have emerged victorious only once. The teams shared the spoils on one occasion.
