Two tantalizing vivo Pro Kabaddi matches are heading your way on Monday.

First, Haryana Steelers will take on the Gujarat Giants, and later, U Mumba will go head-to-head against Dabang Delhi K.C.

Check out our preview for both games:

Match 84: Haryana Steelers vs Gujarat Giants

The Haryana Steelers are unbeaten in their last three matches and have climbed to fourth on the points table. Skipper Vikash Kandola has been in terrific form and the key to Haryana’s change in fortunes. Mohit and Jaideep are arguably the best Cover duo in the league this season, while Surender Nada has rolled back the years with his stellar performances at Left Corner. While they’ve been scoring plenty of points, the Steelers have also given up more points than they would’ve liked (36 points per game). If they can be stingier in defence, Haryana will be a force to be reckoned with.

The Gujarat Giants’ campaign is unravelling quickly. In their previous outing, they suffered a morale deflating 41-22 loss against Dabang Delhi K.C., which kept them 11th on the points table. The defence had a woeful night, as they could muster only six tackle points. The Giants are now 13 points off the playoff spots but have two games in hand. With ten games left, Gujarat will have to win at least seven to be assured of a playoff spot. The defence, which is averaging under nine tackle points per game, needs to step up their game to keep Gujarat’s hopes of a playoff appearance afloat.

Haryana Steelers vs Gujarat Giants head-to-head

The Giants hold a 6-2 lead in their head-to-head matches against the Haryana Steelers. The two teams have shared the spoils once. The Steelers’ second win over the Giants was their 38-36 victory earlier this season.

Match 85: Dabang Delhi K.C. vs U Mumba

Dabang Delhi K.C. snapped their two-game losing streak with an impressive 41-22 win over the Gujarat Giants in their previous outing. The victory was a complete team effort, as five of the seven starters scored five or more points and helped their side to victory. Vijay continued to shine in Naveen Kumar’s absence, leading Delhi in scoring eight points. Delhi can become the first team to breach the 50-point mark in the standings with a win or a tie against U Mumba on Monday. They will have their work cut out trying to contain the in-form U Mumba, but they will back themselves to get the win.

After a run of four games without a win, U Mumba have registered two straight victories in their last two outings and climbed to fifth on the points table. The key to their recent resurgence has been raider Abhishek Singh’s return to form. He has scored 26 points in U Mumba’s last two matches and has been the lynchpin on offence. V Ajith Kumar has played an excellent helping hand and has picked up 13 points over the previous two games. Skipper Fazel Atrachali has also been outstanding and has scored nine tackle points in U Mumba’s last two outings. With the defence and offence finding their footing together, U Mumba now look like a dangerous team to play against.

Dabang Delhi vs U Mumba head-to-head

Dabang Delhi have won four and lost 12 of their 17 matches against U Mumba. One game between the teams has finished in a tie. Delhi beat U Mumba 31-27 earlier this season.

PKL Schedule for Monday, January 31

Match 85: Dabang Delhi K.C. vs U Mumba, 8:30 PM IST
