TOP CONTESTS OF THE WEEK
Dabang Delhi K.C. Beat Patna Pirates 38-37 (Match 56)
The Delhi side held a massive lead at 26-13 at the end of the first half, however, Patna Pirates' defence clicked into place in the second half, and inflicted an All-Out of their own, to cut the lead down to six points. Sachin came to life soon after, registering a Super Raid to take out Ashish, Vikrant and Mohit to pull them closer. Patna Pirates’ surge continued through the half, as Sachin and Sudhakar M's brilliant raiding kept them within three points till late in the game. In the end, though, Dabang Delhi K.C. held on by running down the clock to take the win.
Puneri Paltan Beat Tamil Thalaivas 29-26 (Match 60)
Tamil Thalaivas almost produced a mind-blowing comeback in the dying stages of the game. Two Super Tackles - from M. Abishek and Sagar - saw Tamil Thalaivas trail by just 3 points in the 36th minute. And then a third Super Tackle from Nitesh Kumar in the 38th minute reduced the deficit to just 1 point. It all boiled down to the last raid, where Tamil Thalaivas were playing with three men and Puneri Paltan had a do-or-die raid. Aslam Inamdar went on a pursuit raid and claimed a touch on Nitesh, but the on-field umpires ruled in Tamil Thalaivas’ favour and awarded them 2 points. That meant the scores were tied at 28-28. However, Puneri Paltan reviewed the decision and the TV umpire overturned the decision as Aslam and his team wrapped up a nail-biting match by picking up another win.
Bengaluru Bulls Beat Patna Pirates 35-33 (Match 62)
Bengaluru Bulls pulled off a magical, last-gasp win over three-time champions Patna Pirates in their Pro Kabaddi League match at the DOME by NSCI in Mumbai on Monday as they claimed a 35-33 victory.
