Patna Pirates stamped their authority over Telugu Titans by winning 46-30 in their first home match at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi on Friday. Super 10s from Pardeep Narwal (14 points) and Monu Goyat (10 points) were the highlights of the match as a complete performance from the hosts throttled Rahul Chaudhari’s 7-point fightback.

The match started with a bang as Patna captain Pardeep asserted his dominance with a super raid through his signature ‘dubki’. Inside first five minutes, Pardeep and Goyat’s brilliance led to the Titans’ first All-Out of the match with the scoreline reading 10-2 in Patna’s favour.

The initial setback did not deter the Titans as they made a superb comeback in the next few minutes to hand Patna an All-Out and take a 12-11 lead. However, the first half’s action was far from over. Patna again regrouped their troops to initiate the Titans’ second All-Out of the match in the 18th minute to enter the breather leading 23-16.

Compared to the intense action in the first 20 minutes, the next half started moderately slow. However, the partnership between Pardeep and Goyat showed no signs of weakening as they collectively handed the Titans their third All-Out of the match to take a 29-20 lead. Pardeep picked up his ninth Super 10 of the season in the process.

Nothing worked for the Titans hereafter. Patna enjoyed a steady lead of more than 10 points continuously through the last 10 minutes. Very soon, Goyat also picked up his Super 10 to pile on the agony for the visitors. Patna were not yet done, and in the dying moments inflicted a fourth All-Out on their opponents. They went on to clinch the game 46-30, and with that moved up to second in the Zone B points table.
