The eighth edition of KBD Juniors took place at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi where DAV Public School, Gandhinagar asserted their dominance over Seventh-Day Adventists with a 32-13 win to clinch the coveted trophy on Monday.

Inspired by their home team and double defending champions Patna Pirates, DAV Public School, Gandhinagar dominated all of their three matches on Monday. They overcame the Manan Vaidya hurdle (38-9) in the semi-finals, while their opponents in the final, Seventh-Day Adventists had to work hard to beat Cambrian High School (24-22) in their last-4 encounter.

A total of eight schools participated in KBD Juniors Ranchi, which were RTC High School, Manan Vaidya, DAV Public School, Gandhinagar, Vikas Vidyalaya, Gyanodaya High School, Cambrian High School, DAV Public School, Hehal, and Seventh-Day Adventists. The principals, teachers and parents thronged the stadium to cheer on the new generation of kabaddi players.

After a successful eighth edition, the KBD Juniors caravan now will travel to India’s capital city New Delhi in the search of more young champions, who will take forward the kabaddi legacy.
