Haryana Steelers’ Mohit Nandal and Bengaluru Bulls’ Surjeet Singh were two defenders who stood out courtesy of their solid performances in Pro Kabaddi League Season 10. While Surjeet Singh finished the campaign as Bengaluru Bulls’ leading tackle point scorer, Mohit Nandal was among the top five players in terms of tackle points scored last season.

Overall:
Mohit Nandal was a part of Haryana Steelers’ formidable defence and played a major role in making the Steelers one of the most efficient defences in the league last season. Nandal scored a total of 74 points in 24 games in Season 10, while veteran Surjeet Singh chipped in with 60 points in 21 games for Bengaluru Bulls.
Even though they aren’t renowned for their raiding prowess, both Mohit Nandal and Surjeet Singh tried their hand at attacking and contributed to their teams. Surjeet Singh, in fact, had a not-out percentage of 85.71%, whereas Mohit Nandal had a 100% not-out percentage for the Steelers.
Defence:
However, they were most effective while defending and at times led by example. Surjeet Singh finished PKL Season 10 with 56 tackle points and a tackle success rate of 44%. He attempted 124 tackles over the course of the season, averaging 2.67 successful tackles per match. The experienced right cover also bagged five High 5s and a Super Tackle in Season 10.
Meanwhile, Mohit Nandal’s 70 tackle points made him his team’s second-highest scoring defender and the fifth best in the league. He attempted as many as 146 tackles with a 44% tackle success rate and averaged 2.92 successful tackles per match. He also ended the campaign with six Super Tackles and just as many High 5s.
Attack:
Despite primarily being defenders, Surjeet Singh and Mohit Nandal had an impact in attack as well for the Bengaluru Bulls and Haryana Steelers respectively. The Bengaluru Bulls defender managed four raid points, including a Super Raid. Similarly, Mohit Nandal also notched four raid points, including a Super Raid last season.
