Gujarat Fortunegiants
Q: This is your fifth successive win. What do you have to say about your team’s consistency?
Manpreet Singh: The team is in good form. We look to carry the momentum from the previous game into the next match and that has enabled us to win 5 games in a row. The boys are practicing very well and are confident ahead of each game. Winning games continuously gives you the license to play freely and that has taken the pressure off our team. Dabang Delhi K.C. had to win the game since they were coming into the game on the back of two losses. We took advantage of that and it helped us win.
Q: Gujarat Fortunegiants find a new hero in almost every game. Today it was Dong Geon Lee. What do you have to say about him and Parvesh Bhainswal?
Manpreet Singh: We don’t have even one player in our team who doesn’t play really well. Most of them are young and are making use of the opportunities we’re providing. Dong Geon Lee is one such example. He got his first VIVO Pro Kabaddi Super 10 today and I am very proud of him for playing the way he did. He can look forward to more opportunities to start games. Parvesh Bhainswal is continuously proving what an important player he is for us. He is only improving by the game and we expect more strong performances from him.

Q: At one point of time, it looked like Dabang Delhi K.C. would come back and win the game. Where do you think it went wrong?
Krishan Kumar Hooda: Whenever we had a chance to come back, we conceded points. We also conceded a Super Tackle when we should have had an All-Out. We have to improve in these situations if we are to finish off games.
Q: The first half witnessed three All-Outs. What do you have to say?
Krishan Kumar Hooda: Had we not conceded the three Super Tackles and inflicted an All-Out instead, we would have won the game. The difference was only 5 points then and we would have had at least four points. Instead, we conceded two. We need to finish games off and win them from situations like that.
Q: What do you have to say about the defence of both sides?
Joginder Narwal: We managed a combined four All-Outs in the game. Gujarat Fortunegiants managed three Super Tackles as well. We couldn’t manage any but our level of defence has definitely improved. We just need to learn not to make unnecessary tackles and then we will be able to get more tackle points.
