A sensational team effort in the second half saw the Haryana Steelers trounce the Bengal Warriors 46-29. The Steelers outscored the Warriors 27-10 in the second half to win by 17. With this win, Haryana climbed to fourth on the points table.

The Warriors got off to a good start and raced to a 6-2 lead, but the Steelers responded with a 5-1 run of their own to level the scores at 7-7. The Warriors embarked on another 4-2 run to reclaim the lead, but Vikash Kandola wiped their advantage off with a four-point Super Raid that left Bengal with a solitary player on the mat.

Maninder Singh managed to keep the All Out at bay with a two-point raid, but the Steelers weren’t about to be denied. Kandola picked up another touch point before the defence pinned down Maninder to inflict an All Out on the Warriors.

Bengal finished the half stronger and outscored Haryana 4-2 to go into halftime level at 19-19.

The Steelers started the second half brighter and took a three-point lead, but Mohammad Nabibaksh and Maninder combined to cut the Warriors’ deficit to one. However, Haryana wasn’t about to let the Warriors off the hook.

Vinay and Surender Nada helped their side reclaim their three-point lead before skipper Kandola added two more touch points to his tally to reduce Bengal to just three players on the mat.

The defence Dashed Maninder off the mat and in the subsequent raid, Kandola tagged both defenders before diving past the midline to inflict an All Out to help Haryana take a 10-point lead. Maninder immediately answered with a Super Raid, but the Steelers reclaimed their double-digit lead with a 4-1 run that left the Warriors with just three players on the mat.

Ravi Kumar’s stellar tackle on Nabibakhsh and Vikash’s 10th raid point of the night left Bengal with a solitary man on the mat. The Steelers defence allowed the raider a bonus before pinning him down to inflict another All Out on the Warriors and take a 13-point lead.

Despite their lead, the Steelers did not relent, as they outscored the Warriors 3-0 in the final two minutes of the game to win the game by 16 points.
