Gujarat Fortunegiants continued their impressive showing in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7 as they cruised to a 44-19 victory over U.P. Yoddha at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday. Rohit Gulia scored the first Super 10 of his VIVO Pro Kabaddi career and Parvesh Bhainswal picked up a High 5 to ensure victory for their team.

Rohit Gulia scored a Super 10 for Gujarat Fortunegiants.

Some early success for the raiders of both sides meant that the game stayed tied at 4-4 in the 6th minute. However, a 2-point raid by Sachin gave Gujarat Fortunegiants the momentum they needed as they soon brought U.P. Yoddha down to two men on the mat.

From there, Surender Singh was stopped in his tracks by Rohit Gulia’s Ankle Hold which opened the doors for a U.P. Yoddha All-out, giving Gujarat Fortunegiants a 12-5 lead. Gulia continued to chip away at the U.P. Yoddha defence once the team re-entered the mat and reached his 100th raid point in VIVO Pro Kabaddi with a brilliant reverse Toe Touch on Monu Goyat.

Sumit’s tackle on Sachin gave U.P. Yoddha some hope, but Gujarat Fortunegiants’ Covers Parvesh Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar kept the defence tight and sent back Monu Goyat and Shrikant Jadhav in successive raids to hold on the to advantage. More G B scored the final points of the half by getting touches on Ashu Singh and Nitesh Kumar as the half ended with Gujarat Fortunegiants leading 19-9 and only three U.P. Yoddha players on the mat.

Parvesh Bhainswal Blocks Azad Singh on the way to a High 5.

More G B showed his defensive skills in the second half and sent Azad Singh to the bench in a Do-or-Die raid before Gulia’s two-point raid brought about another U.P. Yoddha All-Out. Shrikant Jadhav opened the scoring for U.P. Yoddha in the second half and a good team tackle initiated by Ashu made the scoreline 26-11 seven minutes into the second half.

Bhainswal reached his High 5 in the next minute after taking down Shrikant Jadhav as the defence of both teams came to the fore. Gulia went in for a Do-or-Die raid in the 13th minute of the second period and escaped Nitesh’s Double Thigh Hold attempt to reduce U.P. Yoddha down to a solitary man on the mat. He brought up his Super 10 soon after as Gujarat Fortunegiants inflicted another All-Out to take the score to 39-18.

Sonu came off the bench and impressed once again with a three-point Super Raid in the closing seconds as Gujarat Fortunegiants climbed to the top the standings with another emphatic win.
