Deepak Hooda’s Super 10 helps Jaipur Pink Panthers overcome Haryana Steelers

Jaipur Pink Panthers continued their winning start to VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7 with a 37-21 victory over Haryana Steelers at the DOME@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. Deepak Hooda inspired Jaipur Pink Panthers with 14 raid points, while Sandeep Dhull got another High 5.

Both teams played the opening quarter of the contest with adventure and intent, but neither side managed to really stamp their authority on the game even though Jaipur Pink Panthers had a 7-5 lead after 10 minutes.

Both, Jaipur Pink Panthers and Haryana Steelers’, defence continued to dominate in the last 10 minutes of the half. However, a stunning two-point raid by Deepak Hooda two minutes before half-time doubled Jaipur Pink Panthers’ lead and helped them to a 13-8 lead going into the break.

Jaipur Pink Panthers pressed home their advantage within a minute of the restart after another successful raid by Deepak Hooda. It led to the first All-Out of the night on Haryana Steelers and gave Jaipur Pink Panthers a 17-8 lead.

From this point on, Jaipur Pink Panthers played in an intelligent manner, devised to protect their advantage. Strong and decisive tackling, as well as efficient raiding from Deepak Hooda, ensured that they took a 10-point lead into the final quarter of the game while Hooda completed his Super 10 in the process.

Haryana Steelers tried to forge a fightback, but smart play and a two-point raid by Ajinkya Pawar in a Do-or-Die situation effectively sealed the result with five minutes remaining on the clock. Jaipur Pink Panthers then went on to enforce a second All-out on Haryana Steelers in the final moments of the contest and eventually won the match by 16 points.
