Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba in Match 5 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7

Jaipur Pink Panthers made a winning start to their 2019 VIVO Pro Kabaddi campaign, registering a 42-23 win over U Mumba at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday. Captain Deepak Hooda led by example with 11 raid points for Jaipur Pink Panthers, while Amit Hooda was their best defender and registered a High 5.

Deepak Hooda gave Jaipur Pink Panthers a good start with a two-point raid to begin proceedings. Deepak Narwal and Nitin Rawal then got in on the action with a few of successful raids of their own. Jaipur Pink Panthers’ raiders were also well-supported by their defence, particularly Amit Hooda.

Amit’s consistent Ankle Holds made things difficult for U Mumba, but it was Deepak Narwal who eventually inflicted the first All-Out of the night on them in the 8th minute. His two-point raid in a Do-or-Die situation gave Jaipur Pink Panthers a 10-2 lead and the early advantage.

U Mumba tried to rally and pulled off a Super Tackle as the first half neared its conclusion. However, a two-point raid by Rawal didn’t allow them to build any momentum and instead ushered in a second All-Out on U Mumba to give Jaipur Pink Panthers a 22-9 lead heading into the break.

The second half saw U Mumba raider Abhishek Singh grow into the game as he picked up a few raid points swiftly to give U Mumba the hope of mounting a fightback. Dong Geon Lee also contributed with consistent successful raids and helped narrow the deficit to 28-19 with five minutes left to play.

However, a successful Do-or-Die raid by Deepak Hooda at a crucial juncture when Jaipur Pink Panthers had just two players on the mat thwarted U Mumba’s potential comeback. Jaipur Pink Panthers’ subsequent raids by Deepak Hooda and Rawal were also successful and completely swung the tide of the contest in favour of the Season 1 champions.

Jaipur Pink Panthers finished the match strongly as they went on to inflict a third All-Out on U Mumba. It was also a satisfying outing for Deepak Hooda, who completed his Super 10 in the last minute of the match as Jaipur Pink Panthers registered a 19-point win over U Mumba.
