Throughout 137 matches in the 10th PKL edition, fans were presented with a lot of memories to cherish with some jaw-dropping experiences.

We take a look at some of the best moments from Pro Kabaddi Season 10.

  1. Puneri Paltan’s first-ever PKL title win:

After being the runners-up in the ninth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League, Puneri Paltan’s long wait for lifting their maiden trophy finally ended after they got over the line against Haryana Steelers in PKL Season 10. The Paltan looked like a powerful side on paper before the start of the season with the inclusion of some of the top-performing youngsters. The team lived up to the expectations and looked unstoppable throughout the tournament losing only two out of the 22 matches to finish at the top of the standings. The deserving champions led by Aslam Inamdar, continued their dominance even in the playoffs. The Steelers gave it their all in the final but Paltan managed to have the upper hand till the end. After the final whistle, the Paltan players were jubilant and ecstatic as they etched history to win their first-ever PKL trophy.

  1. Pardeep Narwal’s All-Out raid vs Puneri Paltan:

U.P. Yoddhas’ star campaigner, Pardeep Narwal is known for producing magical raids on the mat. We witnessed another magic from the record-breaker in PKL Match 55 when he went for the raid with the Super Tackle opportunity on for Puneri Paltan. Abinesh Nadarajan and Akash Shinde were the two men who had the job of saving Puneri Paltan from an All-Out at hand. Abinesh grabbed Pardeep’s legs with a double ankle hold and Akash played the supporting role to stop the Dubki King. They managed to keep things in control before Pardeep’s struggle came to an end after 13 seconds and the all-time leading raid points scorer tapped his left hand past the midline to complete the All-Out raid making it a memorable one for the fans.

  1. Pawan Sehrawat's Lion Jump vs U Mumba:

The hi-flyer, Pawan Sehwawat was in sublime form in PKL Season 10 and was among the top three raid points scorers with 202 raid points. We saw a glimpse of vintage Pawan in Match 130 which was also the last game for his side in the tournament. He produced a Lion Jump before bidding adieu to the campaign against U Mumba before the halfway mark of the first half to take his team ahead in the game. The chain of Bittu and Gokulakannan M that ran in from the right corner couldn’t hole out Pawan’s Lion Jump and the Titans skipper managed to escape past the two defenders to take his team ahead in the game. This Lion Jump from Pawan was a mouth-watering moment for all his fans who were eagerly waiting to see him perform this top-level move.

  1. Mohit Goyat's wrist hold on Pranay Rane:

Puneri Paltan’s young maestro, Mohit Goyat has proved his worth time and again not just in the raiding department but with his excellence in the defence as well. In Pro Kabaddi League’s Match 13 against U Mumba, he showed great courage to make the first move to stop Pranay Rane in the two-man defence for the Paltan with the Super Tackle on. With Mohammadreza Chiyaneh in the left corner on the other side of the mat, Mohit took the risk and attempted a wrist hold against the fast-moving Pranay Rane. The U Mumba raider aimed for a running hand touch against Mohit knowing the danger with Chiyaneh as the other defender. However, Rane’s decision didn’t give him the expected outcome as he fell prey to a wrist hold to add a Super Tackle to Mohit’s tally. Mohit grew in confidence after his heroics and turned out to be the fifth best defender for the Paltan with 29 tackle points.

  1. Pardeep Narwal’s 1600 raid points in PKL:

Pardeep has been rated as one of the Most Valuable Players (MVP) in PKL over the years and the seasoned campaigner’s presence garners immense fan support from around the world for any team that he features in. The record-breaker has had exceptional seasons, year after year, in the league. In Match 19 of PKL Season 10, the Dubki King was up against Bengaluru Bulls and created history by becoming the first-ever player to go past the 1600 raid points mark in the Pro Kabaddi League. He invited Bengaluru Bulls’ right corner Saurabh Nandal for an ankle hold by keeping his left leg on the bonus line and managed to escape past the defender by bringing all his experience into play. With this, the record-breaker added another feather to his cap.

  1. Fazel Atrachali crossed 450 tackle points in PKL:

Similar to Pardeep, Fazel Atrachali has also been one of the legends of the game. Just like Pardeep in attack, he is also way ahead of the rest of his competitors in the defence department. The Sultan has been the all-time leading tackle points scorer in PKL. In Match 53 of PKL Season 10, Fazel achieved the 450 tackle points landmark against Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Ashu Malik. The left corner has always been a live wire in the defence and it was no different against Ashu. Fazel who was determined in the defence against Ashu was looking for an opportunity to grab the raider’s right leg and when Ashu stepped his leg on the bonus line Fazel accepted the offer with open arms to complete the milestone of 450 tackle points in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League.

  1. Narender's Super Raid against Bengal Warriors:

Narender has been the most reliable raider for Tamil Thalaivas in the last two seasons. In Season 10 he was rock solid with his moves, managing to push the defenders on the backfoot. The young Thalaiva was among the top five raiders of the season as he managed to score 186 raid points for his side. In Match 126 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 against Bengal Warriors, he timed his jump to perfection against the chain of Akshay Kumar and Nitin Kumar that came in from the left side of the mat to send the raider on the bench. But, Narender was confident when he walked in for this do-or-die raid and absorbed the pressure with some character against the seven-man defence of the Warriors. This raid from Narender was highly cheered by the fans who came in large numbers to support the raider.

  1. Surjeet Singh's 400 tackle points in PKL:

Surjeet Singh has been one of the most consistent defenders in PKL. He has been associated with the league for the past eight seasons and has often been seen safeguarding his team’s defence from the front. He chipped in with 56 tackle points in Season 10 to become the top defender for Bengaluru Bulls in the tournament. In Match 104 of the milestone 10th edition, the right cover became the second defender and the only Indian player to cross the 400 tackle points mark in PKL. He completed this achievement courtesy of an advance block against U Mumba’s Jai Bhagwan.

  1. Sudhakar M’s Dubki against Gujarat Giants:

Sudhakar M has been the find of the tournament for Patna Pirates. The young prodigy amassed 103 raid points for the three-time champions in PKL Season 10. The promising raider who was playing just his second game in PKL Match 11 of the milestone PKL edition returned with an impressive Dubki against a three-man defence of Gujarat Giants. Arkam Shaikh and Rakesh who were forming a chain to tackle down the raider couldn’t manage to hold on after they saw Sudhakar advancing towards them. Sudhakar M’s fantastic raid reminded Patna Pirates fans of what Pardeep used to do for them with his moves three seasons back.

  1. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh's Raid against Gujarat Giants:

Chiyaneh being an all-rounder is usually seen showing his fearless approach in the defence to give us some breathtaking tackles. However, he was seen performing the raiding duties after he was picked by Puneri Paltan for Season 10 at regular intervals. The left corner was introduced in the attack by Paltan’s head coach, BC Ramesh and he got good returns. Chiyaneh left everyone in the stadium awestruck in PKL 10 Match 68 when he went as a raider in a do-or-die raid against Gujarat Giants’ captain Fazel Atrachali and made it successful with his acrobatic raid. A successful do-or-die raid coming in from a non-regular raider against the league’s top defender surprised everyone who watched the splendid raid from Chiyaneh.
