Bengaluru Bulls returned to winning ways, making it four wins in their last five matches, with a hard-fought 28-24 victory against Gujarat Giants at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on Monday.

Their captain Yogesh Dahiya, who led the way with a High Five on the night, shared insight into his approach since taking on the leadership role. “Captaincy doesn’t add any pressure for me. In fact, it serves as motivation to lead the team and I’m just playing my role to do that”, he said.

Further shedding some light on the performance of his young raider Aashish Malik, Yogesh added, “Aashish is a very good young player and he’s doing really well. Even when he’s making a mistake, the coach calmly explains things to him and he pays attention to rectify them.”

Reflecting on the win and his team’s resilient performance, Bengaluru Bulls head coach BC Ramesh expressed, “Our players planned strategies and executed them throughout the contest. The turning point for us was the Super Tackles from Yogesh and Deepak in the first half, giving our team an advantage. And then Akash Shinde did his bit, getting points at the right time to balance things out to get us over the line.”

Speaking on his vital contributions to the team’s triumph, Akash Shinde highlighted the importance of Bengaluru Bulls’ team effort. He mentioned, “Winning the match is important. It doesn’t matter if your raiders make you win or your defenders. Our defence played really well, especially our corners – they were outstanding. And that’s why we won the game.”

The raider also emphasized on the importance of trust in his team, while revealing the advice his coach shared with him ahead of this contest. “It’s important to have the trust on your players and the team trusted me with the responsibility today. Even before the game, coach sir told me to play responsibly and stay in the game as long as possible because that would give us an advantage. We worked on that strategy and it paid off”, he concluded.
