Nine points from Pawan Sehrawat in a low-scoring affair proved to be the difference on the night, as Bengaluru Bulls fought valiantly to beat the U.P. Yoddha 31-26. With this win, the Bulls snapped their two-game losing streak and closed the gap to league leaders Dabang Delhi K.C. to two points.

The game was a hard-fought contest from the get-go. The two teams split the first 10 points evenly, with Nitesh Kumar accounting for three of his team’s five points. The Bulls’ finally managed to pull ahead on the scoreboard, courtesy of Aman and Bharat picking up a point each. GB More added another point to his team’s tally, reducing U.P. to just two players on the mat.

Ashu Singh’s Super Tackle on Sehrawat kept the All Out at bay, but it proved to be only a momentary respite. The Bulls’ defence quickly reduced U.P. to just two men again, and Sehrawat made no mistake the second time around, as he tagged both defenders and got past the midline to inflict the game’s first All Out.

U.P. finished the half slightly better, outscoring the Bulls 4-3 to go into the break trailing 19-13.

Sehrawat and the Bulls’ defence combined to extend their team’s lead to eight early in the second half. But Shrikant Jadhav and Nitesh, who completed his High 5, managed to peg Bengaluru’s advantage back to six.

Sumit’s brilliant tackle on Deepak Narwal left the Bulls with just three on the mat, but Aman and GB used it to their advantage, as they Super Tackled Shrikant to keep the All Out at bay. The Bulls then embarked on a 4-1 run, with their defence and Bharat splitting the load evenly, to leave U.P. with just three on the mat.

Sehrawat went in to raid, hoping to help his side edge closer to inflicting an All Out and ending the contest. But Nitesh, Ashu and Sumit combined to pin down the Bulls’ skipper to cut their team’s deficit down to eight.

U.P. finished the contest with a 4-1 run to cut the deficit to five and earn a point from the game. But it was Bengaluru who took home a crucial win.
