A scintillating and gripping back-and-forth contest that went down to the very last raid of the match saw Bengaluru Bulls triumph over Patna Pirates by a 43-41 scoreline at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna on Wednesday.

The game’s first big moment was provided by Bengaluru Bulls’ man of the hour Pawan Kumar Sehrawat as he got Kuldeep Singh and Ravinder Kumar in the same raid to give his team a 4-2 lead. But Patna Pirates responded with three straight points to neutralise the early momentum that the opposition were building.

Mahender Singh then got a tackle on Patna Pirates’ captain Pardeep Narwal to send him to the bench and reduce the home team to just three players with the score reading 9-6 in Bengaluru Bulls’ favour. But Patna Pirates responded by scoring six straight points and reducing Bengaluru Bulls to just two players on the mat in return. In his determination to inflict an All-Out, Pardeep Narwal gave away a Super Tackle to Bengaluru Bulls.

In Patna Pirates’ very next raid, Kashiling Adake got another Super Tackle on Deepak Narwal to push his team’s lead to three points. But Patna Pirates weren’t to be denied that All-Out as two touch points in two raids by Manjeet split by Vikas Kale’s tackle on Rohit Kumar left only a solitary Bengaluru Bulls player on the mat. Patna Pirates eventually inflicted the All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls as the half wound down with the visitors trailing 18-21.

The second half kicked off with both teams trading off points one after another as Patna Pirates maintained their three-point lead. With the score at 26-23 in Patna Pirates’ favour, Bengaluru Bulls captain Rohit Kumar delivered a Super Raid, swinging the momentum firmly into his team’s favour.

They followed that up by tackling Manjeet, leaving just three players on Patna Pirates’ side of the mat. Sehrawat delivered the killer-blow from there, as he muscled his way to the midline after getting a touch on all three defenders, inflicting an All-Out on Patna Pirates in the process.

Bengaluru Bulls continued their momentum to score three out of the next four points as well, capping off a run that saw them outscore Patna Pirates 12-1 as the scoreline read 35-27 in Bengaluru Bulls’ favour. But Patna Pirates struck back through Manjeet, who kept outfoxing the defence to inflict an All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls which levelled the scores at 36-36.

Sehrawat’s second Super Raid of the match gave Bengaluru Bulls the advantage once again, but a yellow card to captain Rohit Kumar gave Patna Pirates another opportunity to come back.

Ravinder Singh Super Tackled Sehrawat and Kuldeep Singh tackled Adake in quick succession to help Patna Pirates level the scores yet again at 41-41 with just over a minute left.
