Day 2 of the Kabaddi event at Asian Games 2022 at Hangzhou, China witnessed four matches played in the men's category and three matches in the women's category.

The Indian men's team registered a comfortable win against Bangladesh in their opening game while the Indian women's team sealed a dominant win against the Republic of Korea.

Men’s Results

India got off to a solid start against Bangladesh as the opposition quiet against in the initial stages of the game. Bangladesh managed to get their first points on the board in the fifth minute but soon after Naveen Kumar completed a Super Raid, which was followed by an All-Out to take India's score to 11-2. Bangladesh managed to pull off a Super Tackle on India’s captain Pawan Sehrawat, however, the halftime score read 24 - 9 in India's favour.

In the second half, India maintained their lead and rotated their raiders on the mat. Sachin and Akash joined forces to extend the lead for India before inflicting another All-Out to take the score to 37-10 before securing a comfortable 55-18 win.

Chinese Taipei registered their second win on the trot after beating Japan by a 38-22 margin.

Defending champions Iran condemned Malaysia to a massive defeat and sealed their second win of the tournament with a 53-23 scoreline.

In the last game of the men’s category, Pakistan claimed their first win of their Asian Games campaign. They defeated the Republic of Korea with a 56-21 scoreline.

Women’s Results

Iran sealed their first win of the event by beating Nepal. The defending champions beat the Nepal by a 43-19 scoreline in the first match of the women's category on Day 2.

After a brilliant tie against Chinese Taipei, the Indian women’s team scripted a good comeback against the Republic of Korea in their second encounter. The Indian team managed to outsmart the Republic of Korea right from the start and maintained a healthy lead against the opposition to finish the first half at 32-9.

The Indian women’s team continued their momentum and didn’t allow the Republic of Korea to recover. Five All-Outs inflicted by the Indian team showed their dominance in the encounter. India women registered their first win of the campaign by a 56-23 scoreline.

In the final fixture of the evening, Thailand tasted the first defeat of their campaign against Chinese Taipei, who won by a 37-28 scoreline.
